These notes are for a couple photo-based forums I'm posting these to, not for the racers.

These pictures were taken with a Canon 50D, on a tripod, using a remote trigger. The lens was a Canon 16-35mm f/2.8. The aperture was set generally at f/7.1. The shutter speed was generally at 1/250th. The ISO ranged from 320 to 640 (640 as it got darker).

There were two Alien Bee 1600s and one Alien Bee 400 used. The 1600s were at 1/8th power with neutral density filters. The 400 was at 100% power and had an 42” umbrella (no wind).


Looking over the results most of these pictures would be more interesting if the camera position was low (on the ground) and catching the burnout in progress. I'm also going to try three 42" umbrellas to start with and see how that does.
